Pricing

Pricing for The Startup Service is more of a discussion than a simple menu because there are so many ways we can engage. We typically begin with a 30-60 minute FREE consultation to understand whether and how The Startup Service can add value to your business, and only after that does pricing come into play. Be assured that there will never be any charge to you without an explicit discussion and agreement beforehand. 

If we decide that working together makes sense, there are several ways we can structure pricing. 

  • Hourly - If there are just a few things to be done and the timing is unpredictable, we charge $150 - $250 per hour, depending on the activity and the personnel. 

  • Fixed Bid - If the help you need is structured and predictable, and especially if you’re interested in one of our packages (Formation, Financials, Commerce), we can give you a flat-fee quote for those deliverables and we’ll stand by that quote. 

  • Retainer - If you need ongoing support that may ebb and flow month over month, we can set up a predictable monthly payment. Retainers are generally $2,000 - $10,000 per month with a 3-month minimum agreement. 

  • Equity - If it looks like we can be helpful over a longer period of time, we are sometimes open to payment as a small percentage of ownership in the company, or perhaps a mix of cash and equity. This would typically range from 2% - 5% again depending on value delivered. 

We are flexible -- our goal is to help you and your business succeed, and we don’t want pricing to get in the way of that goal. We always look for win-win ways to structure our relationships.
